An industrial park serves as an area zoned and planned for the purpose of industrial development. Most Industrial parks are located either on the edge of, or just outside the main residential area of one of the counties boroughs or communities.

Somerset County offers four main industrial/business parks that extend throughout the county. Laurel Highlands Business Park, Somerset Industrial Park, North Star Industrial Park, and Meyersdale Industrial Park. These areas offer many benefits such as easy access to highways, railways, utilities, and incentives for new or expanding business such as Keystone Opportunity Zones (KOZ) and Keystone Innovative Zones (KIZ).

Local and state government offer various incentive programs to assist businesses relocating or expanding into these areas. These programs consist of low-interest loans, bonds, grants, and various tax incentives, SCEDC is eager to assist and make available current incentives and programs.

Somerset County has experienced rapid growth in the past four decades. County leaders look forward to continued growth by attracting new business and industrial expansion.

Laurel Highlands Business Park
